中大醫學院【新生白袍典禮 2023】CUHK White Coat Inauguration Ceremony 2023

中大醫學院新生白袍典禮於2023年9月16日舉行，約300名醫科新生在親友、中學校長及老師的見證下逐一穿上白袍，並莊嚴宣誓「醫學生誓詞」，承諾尊重生命、肩負白袍重任、盡心盡力照顧病人。

主禮嘉賓香港特別行政區政府醫務衞生局局長盧寵茂教授致辭中提及，醫學不單是科學，也是一門藝術，需要知識和技術，同時要兼備同理心、諒解及包容，不論病人背景和情況，從一而終奉行人道主義。

醫學院院長陳家亮教授在致辭中勉勵新生，毋懼宏大夢想，勿忘初心，由披上白袍開始，要保持一團火，肩負醫生重任，迎接挑戰！

Nearly 300 medical freshmen participated in the White Coat Inauguration Ceremony for Medical Freshmen on 16 September 2023. Witnessed by their families, friends and secondary school principals and teachers, the medical freshmen were donned with white coats and pledged to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct to care for the patients.

Professor Chung-mau LO, BBS, JP, Secretary for Health of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, was the Guest of Honour at this solemn occasion. He said, “Medicine is not only a science; it is also an art. It is a profession that requires not only knowledge and skill but empathy, understanding, and the ability to embrace diversity. It is about recognising the humanity in each and every patient, regardless of their background or circumstances.”

Professor Francis CHAN, SBS, JP, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine reminded medical students to dream, “Now it’s time for me to move on and to follow my dreams. My students, don’t be afraid to dream big. Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.”
