All About … Charlotte’s Mid Mount Platforms

This All About video is all about the Charlotte NC Fire Department and the addition of new, 100 foot mid-mount platforms to their apparatus fleet. Over the last 25 years, the Charlotte Fire has purchased nearly identical aerial ladders for the departments ladder companies. However, in 2022, the department departed from the rear mount straight stick aerial and purchased the first of 4 mid-mount platforms. This change was to diversify their ladder fleet and not a complete change. This video discusses the new apparatus, including some of the reasons, as well some possible future acquisitions.
