This short video introduces a highly parallelized measurement strategy for non-invasively detecting events that occur deep within tissue. The proposed device non-invasively shines light into the body or head, and detects its rapid fluctuations across 1024 independent single photon avalanche diodes. We demonstrate how this device can accurately measure the pulse from deep within tissue at up to 30-100 Hz sampling rate and can also measure behaviorally induced physiological variations from above the human prefrontal cortex.
