Team Safariland: Robert Vogel

“It’s a skill set that can save lives,” says Robert Vogel, professional marksman, competition shooter and police officer. From an early age, Robert Vogel knew he wanted to be good with a gun. Growing up on a farm in Saint Mary’s, Ohio, he gained a lifelong love of the outdoors, and had the opportunity to get involved in shooting and hunting.

When Robert finished high school he joined a 2-year Police Academy program, and started competing in practical shooting competitions. Since entering his first competition in 1991, he has become a 3-time world champion and 23-time national champion across 3 disciplines of practical/combat shooting, and has traveled all over the world competing and teaching.

“If you’re ever going to accomplish anything great in your life, you have to push yourself out of your comfort zone, bottom line, and that is not a natural thing to do.”
