Homeless Shelter Helps Malaysians Sleeping Rough In Singapore

Описание к видео Homeless Shelter Helps Malaysians Sleeping Rough In Singapore

On March 18, 2020, Malaysia’s Movement Control Order took effect to contain COVID-19. To keep their jobs in Singapore, some Malaysians who usually commute daily took to sleeping rough. Transit Point @ Margaret Drive, run by New Hope Community Services, opened its doors ahead of schedule and, with the help of church and public volunteers, reached out to those without a safe place to sleep.

*Footage was shot in mid-March.

Transit Point @ Margaret Drive is the third shelter run by New Hope Community Services, which has been housing rough sleepers for 16 years. To volunteer, register at http://bit.ly/lovingroughsleepers. Donations may be dropped off at 51 Margaret Drive between 9am and 7pm.
