Reason #1 - Oven Door Gasket: There is a rubber or silicone fabric gasket that goes around the inside edge of the oven door. While it is made to withstand high heat and other conditions, it is not completely impervious to wear over time. If this part is damaged or in disrepair, it could be causing the oven door not to close properly.

Reason #2 - Oven Door Hinge: The hinges and other hardware take quite a beating and may need replaced if they break or start to show signs of wear over time. If the door hinges are bad, the oven door will not close properly.

Reason #3 - Oven Door Spring: Along with the hinges, the door springs on your oven see a lot of use. They can become worn over time or even break entirely. Slide out the bottom drawer to check the springs before removing the door. If your oven door is newer, it may not have springs.

Reason #4 - Oven Door Hinge Receiver: The hinge receiver is a slide panel made of metal that is located on the sides of the range. This is what the door hinges hook into. These brackets have pins in them to hold the door in place. If the receiver is damaged or bent, the unit will not close properly.
