As all Return to Life music is, this was made entirely on my own, over the course of about 7 months in 2022. Stylistically Esoteric is a bit of a departure from what I did with my previous work, as I wrote it entirely in the order that it’s presented, with ideas quickly coming and going without a ton of time for them to sink in. I spent a lot of time after finishing The Depths refining my own sound and improving the clarity of essentially every aspect of the mix, but there’s still definitely a lot of room for improvement. I won’t talk much about the subject matter of the album as that sorta defeats the purpose, but it is my first time trying to write something based in reality and about things that transpired over the past few years.
