Violet Surprise!

Hello and welcome back to my channel!

Here is my Timelapse video of Violet! This is my second split base creation and I’ve decided to continue making more split bases paintings in different colour combinations. The base colours here are both ultramarine violet light, except I mixed in 35% of white paint to create a lighter ultramarine to give a subtle colour change on the base.

I was incredibly surprised by the amount of golden cells that grew as the paint settled, which I didn’t except as cells are not usually something I get from my paintings. But I wasn’t disappointed, it gives it a completely different look.

All paints are mixed with European Owatrol Floetrol and water. I use a ratio of 2 parts floetrol to 1 part paint and 1 part water. This mixture works for me and the effects I want to create.

Colours are:
Split Base Colours:
Ultramarine violet light by Amsterdam
Titanium White (35g) by Windsor & Newton mixed with ultramarine violet light (65g)

Colours:
Arteza- copper gold and Pearl white
Amsterdam - permanent blue violet, Pearl violet, Persian rose
Pebeo - iridescent precious gold
