Dutch Pour and Spray Paint! Gorgeous purples and metallics!

Hello and welcome back to my channel! It’s been a good 6 weeks since I last painted and I absolutely missed it! But it also gave me time to explore new ideas, compositions and techniques.

This canvas is 20x30inches, the first time painting on this size canvas, so I knew the composition had to be wild enough to file the space, but leave some areas bare. I’ve also used an acrylic spray paint, by Liquitex called Antique Gold. It certainly created a new dimension and look to the painting. I’m happy with it, but more practice is needed.

While the painting is meant to be floral, I do feel filigree has crept in, which I love anyway, so I’m very happy with how the leaf/flower work turned out.

All paints are mixed with European Owatrol Floetrol and water. I use a ratio of 2 parts floetrol to 1 part paint and 1 part water. This mixture works for me and the effects I want to create.

Colours are:
Split Base Colours:
Titanium Light Buff (Amsterdam) and Pale Violet (W&N)
Ultramarine Violet (Amsterdam) and Payne’s Grey (W&N)

Colours:
Arteza - Pearl white
Amsterdam - permanent blue violet
Pebeo - iridescent copper
Folk Art - Rose Gold
