Скачать или смотреть 1905 Vintage "R.Waygood" lift motor room, UNTOUCHED!! (Part1: Gas Lamps+Machinery)

This technology is BRUTAL!! It's not complicated, but it's amazing what they had to do, what they had to build, to make the lift do basic functions that TODAY we wouldn't even think about.

There are metal contacts everywhere and you'd be killed working on this antique machinery unless it is switched off.
This equipment IS switched off, and it has been since 1988 which was the last time it ran. Since then, the shaft has been sealed and the motor room has been left alone.

In this part we are working our way up the stairwell to find the motor room. On the way we pass vintage Gas Lighting, some very old door closers and toilets.
(By the way, I've not YET conquered my water tank phobia!!)

Absolutely fascinating looking into how this machinery works and what everything does. ...the big moving solenoid on the right?? (you see it at 6:35). I could tell you what it does, but there is more I need to show you before I can explain, but believe me it's TOTALLY WICKED!!!
