Printing on Brother PJ763MFi and PJ773

This quick video shows you how you can print a status report, also known as the information sheet, directly from the printer. This process actually applies to all Brother PocketJet 7 series: PJ722, 723, 762, 763, 763MFi, and 773.

1. Press the power button to turn on the printer
2. Press and hold the Feed button until the data light comes on
3. Insert a cut sheet paper with the print side (the shining side) face down

The information sheet will be printed automatically.

Note: no worry if you do not know which side is the print side. If you get it wrong, it will print blank. Just flip the page and you can use it again. The page I was using in the video was torn from the FanFold paper. The black mark will not appear on the regular cut sheet paper. The black mark is the side that face up. The printer is using the black mark to identify the page perforation.

Good to know: the page counter is handy when you are buying a used Pocketjet printer. The good news is that Brother Pocketjet is a workhorse. I have an older model PJ663 and the counter is showing 25,000 pages. Because it is thermal, it is still printing as good as the first page. However, you should try your best to keep the printhead, and the roller clean. Amazingly Brother's website is selling the a pack of 5 cleaning sheets for $2.
