Abdominal Pain: Assessment, Diagnosis, & Treatment in the Emergency Department

Описание к видео Abdominal Pain: Assessment, Diagnosis, & Treatment in the Emergency Department

In this video, we talk about the most common complaint that brings people into the ER- abdominal pain. We go through gathering a good history on the patient and find out what assessment questions the ER nurse should ask. We also see how the patient is diagnosed: labs, UA, CT, US, or KUB. From there we talk about what certain lab findings indicate. We briefly touch on clinical diagnoses including gastritis, diverticulitis, obstruction, appendicitis, and constipation. Lastly, we see how to treat the patient and what the final disposition depends on. New grad ER nurses, welcome and get prepared for your next shift!
