Piano arrangements of two aquatic themes.

I've never played any of the console games (and judging by the aesthetics don't really have any intention to), but Yamane's tracks are an absolute indulgence, and the aqueduct themes are among the most charismatic in the 3D games. In "Mortvia Aqueduct", there are bold Coldplay-style chords, great use of the 2-against-3 polyrhythm (cf. Ecclesia's "Edge of the Sky") and a colourful blend of orchestral instruments and cembalo-like strings. On the other hand, "Mortvia Fountain" has one of the most infectious openings, using the same instruments for a more direct Mediterranean reference, combined with Andalusian cadences, habanera rhythms, a showy orchestral transition, and an oblique quotation of Symphony's "Lost Painting" in the B-section to boot. Yamane's music showcases much more of the in-game worlds of these games than the glum visuals ever could.
