Subterranean Hell - Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

"Subterranean Hell"

This has been a long time coming (like 10 years almost lol); one of my absolute favourite themes from my first Castlevania game. Pity the original had such a monotonous bassline (probably rather overcompensated here though). That said, Yamane's own arrangement ("Original Amber Scenery") is absolutely gorgeous.

Interestingly, the original word for "hell" in the Japanese title refers more to an "underworld", akin to the Ancient Greek Háidēs; something more meditative and subdued than, say, a Christian conception. Why they appended such an tautological qualifier to it, we'll probably never find out, but it makes for a very pretty title nonetheless.
