ONE-POCKET – In 1994, STEVE COOK “The Cookie Monster” and Mexico’s RAFAEL MARTINEZ were opponents at the Roanoke One-Pocket Championships. Cook, 47, was the 1970 Stardust All-Around champion in Las Vegas and twenty-one years later, he won the 1991 Legends of One-Pocket. Martinez was a well-rounded fearless player at all disciplines. Later in 1994, he was in the finals with Johnny Archer at the Sands Regency 9-Ball Open.
