Conductor: Moses Gay En Hui | 指挥: 倪恩辉

Composer: Liu Wenjin | 作曲: 刘文金

Originally written for a folk orchestra, The Great Wall Capriccio is adapted from composer Liu Wenjin’s earlier Erhu concerto of the same title and draws on material from the 1st movement, Overture, and the 4th movement, Looking Afar. The grand start to the piece illustrates the importance and significance of the Great Wall of China. The music then transits into a vibrant and upbeat section, illustrating the bright future of China that was made possible through the construction of the Great Wall, particularly as a buffer against invasions by nomadic tribes to the north.
