How To Count Strides in the Trot & Canter

Recap: Counting Strides with Gideon!

Counting strides is important for timing aids and riding movements well, but it can be deceptively challenging for riders at any level.

This exercise helps the rider learn to ride every step, keep the horse under control, keep themselves, and most importantly their seat bones under control. It's also a great way to sensitize the horse to the trot-canter and canter-trot aides as well as prep for flying changes.
