The FG Knot - Plain and Simple!

The FG Knot is one of, if not, the best knot for connecting Braid to Mono or Fluorocarbon Leader due to its strength and reliability. Because of its slim profile it travels well through the guides of the rod giving it excellent cast-ability and significantly reducing any chances of snagging. The key to the FG knot is the diameter of the braid being thinner than the diameter of your connecting leader, which is typically the case.

Give it some time and your confidence in tying this knot will drastically increase, as well as the time it takes to tie. Before long you'll be able to tie it in under 2 minutes with ease!
