Mornin' (Al Jarreau) Bass Cover by Lars-Erik Dahle

Al Jarreau was quite the character. He seemed much more willing than other singers in his genre to experiment with his vocal expression, sounding quite comical at times, but always musical, and always more part of the band than a traditional lead singer.

In my opinion, Jarreau was never better on record than when ace session guitarist-turned-producer Jay Graydon held the reins. This song is the perfect example, and is deservedly a favorite among westcoast music fans. Great drum track by Jeff Porcaro, tasty Rhodes by David Foster, and excellent guitar by Graydon himself.

Abraham Laboriel was the bassist on the session, I've tried my best to match his effortless groove. I hope you enjoy the result.
