Altered Dominant 7 Chord, Bass Line Backing Track Link, 121 bpm -    • Altered Dominant 7 Chords' Bass Line ...

Dr. Kristen R. Bromley is a Jazz Guitar Artist and Expert. This course covers jazz guitar in exceptional detail and is designed for those new to jazz or those who have been playing for awhile. In this Lesson, which is Lesson 46 in the series, Dr. Bromley goes over rootless voicings for the altered dominant 7 chord type (e.g., C7#5#9, C7#5b9, C7b5#9, C7b5b9). These voicings include upper extension alterations, like the b9, #.9, #11, and b13. The voicings taught in this lesson come from the formula for creating jazz voicings that was taught in Lesson 33. In this lesson, Dr. Bromley demonstrates in an interactive play-along session, how to comp with these voicings over a chord progression that covers all 12 keys by proceeding through the circle of fourths. See the above link for the video that contains just the bass line backing track used in this lesson.
