Prolapsed hemorrhoids causes, symptoms and treatment is one more question. Hemorrhoids are nothing but small bunches of blood vessels usually arranged in three groups inside the anal canal. When they start enlarging we call them actually they are called anal cushions everybody has. When they start enlarging we call them a hemorrhoids or piles. Piles and hemorrhoids are one and the same. So when they become first degrees they are always inside and nothing is same from outside occasionally bleeding will be there. Second degree is they prolapse outside or come outside and goes back on its own. Third degree it comes out and stays for longer periods and may have to be pushed back. Four degree remains outside. This third and four degree hemorrhoids are also called as prolapsed hemorrhoids and if the blood gets clotted in that it is called prolapsed thrombosed hemorrhoid which is a complication of hemorrhoids. So prolapsed hemorrhoids simply prolapsed hemorrhoids will project as a mass and their patient will be seeing some lump or swelling or a mass in the anal region which may be pushed back or it may remain outside. If they get thrombosed that means blood gets clotted inside those blood vessels it becomes painful and it will be quite swollen and the patient will have severe pain and it requires a surgical removal as early as possible. So prolapsed thrombosed hemorrhoid is a different thing. Just prolapsed hemorrhoids they also require surgery because prolapsed hemorrhoids is already a late stage of hemorrhoids or piles and has to be only operative treatment is available for that medical treatment will not cure the disease. So for the operative there are different varieties of surgeries. In that what we use is called a Doppler Guided Hemorrhoidal Arterial Ligation with Rectoanal repair or a combination of Doppler with Lasers to shrink the muscles and also take care of the main supply and prevent the recurrence of the disease.
