Wild Borneo | Kinabatangan River | Birds and Wildlife of Abai and Riverside Lodge | Malaysia 2024

Orangutan, Proboscis monkey, red leaf monkey and Sundaic slivered langur are examples of the many mammels and plentiful wildlife present in the forests along the Kinabatangan river. The Kinabatangan river is home to over 350 different species of birds, some of which are endemic to Borneo. On our journey to the Kinabatangan river we visited the Abai region near to the mouth of the river as well as the Sukau region further upstream. For six days we travelled way over 100 km on the river looking for birds, mammals, reptiles and other animals.

Welcome to our birding and wildlife safari to the Kinabatangan river in Borneo (Malaysia) in July 2024. We stayed three nights at the beautiful Abai Jungle Lodge and three nights at the wonderful Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge.
