Link vs Dark Link | A Legend of Zelda Music Video Animation | Dark Link Trilogy | GAS

Link and Navi explore the labyrinth that is The Water Temple. They enter a room that takes them to a mesmerizing location, unlike the rest of the temple. Link and Navi attempt to go through, but the exit door is locked. They head back for the entrance. However, they stopped when they see a shadowy figure manifest under a tree. The figure soon took shape and began to look like Link. This Dark Link soon began to threaten Link and got through to the silent hero emotionally. With no choice, Link must face this dark entity. However, as Link endured combat with this dark manifestation. He begins to piece together who this Dark Link is and his surprising origins.

Sorry for the botchy transition between scenes. An animation concept like this deserves to have great authentic animation and editing. Too bad it had to be done by me XD. Fighting animations are not what I'm used to. I have animated fight scenes before, but they weren't that good. So I gave my all to give this the best animation I have done. And I hope it was good enough.

I tried to keep this animation accurate to the game it was based on, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I recreated the room where Dark Link resides in. I made item sheets of The Master Sword and Hylian Shield. Navi was tricky to do. However I found a way, by having a glowing orb and putting Minecraft bee wings on it. And when Link takes damage he flashes red, just like in game. As for the skins of the characters. I took a Link skin and edited it to make it animation ready. Then I copied the Link skin and put different shades of black and grey on it, and that's how I made Dark Link's skin

(Fun Fact: I have played Ocarina of Time, however I never finished it. I find old games made before my time very difficult to play. The only way I could go through most of the game was watching ZeldaMaster's playthrough of it XD)

Now the ending of this video may have you asking some questions. If you haven't seen the video yet and just went straight to the description, go see it. Anyway, for those who have seen it, I shall explain the ending.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. You fight Dark Link in the Water Temple. Dark Link is a mirrored manifestation of Link who copies his moves and is presumably made up of Link's darkest fears. However I put my own spin on Dark Link, you could say this a glorified Legend of Zelda fan-fic.

Anyway in this video Link fights Dark Link. Dark Link points out Links fears and verbally attacks him by saying he's weak and he'll fail everyone. However when Link knocks The Dark Sword out of Dark Link's hand. His glowing eyes turn from red to white. Link then breaks The Dark Sword and somehow frees Dark Link, his eyes turn from white to blue. Indicating he is now fully free. And Link tells him to come with him. Excited for freedom, Dark Link follows, however he is stopped when someone seals the exit. Dark Link turns and finds, a Dark Zelda? She fixes and The Dark Sword and re-corrupts Dark Link.

I know what your thinking, "A Dark Zelda? That's not possible?" Your right, because that was not this timelines Zelda.

Dark Link and Dark Zelda come from a timeline separate from the canon Zelda timeline. A timeline were they failed and suffered a terrible fate, brought upon them by an entity that turned them into dark abominations. They somehow found a way into the canon timeline and devise a sinister plan that can change the future of the timeline. However when they came, they were stuck in the mysterious room in The Water Temple. They need to wait for this timelines Link to come and open the door so they could escape. However Dark Link is severed from the malevolent power corrupting him and attempts to convince his Zelda that they can be free, however his words were in vain. Dark Link is corrupted once again, they are set loss onto Hyrule, and they are ready to execute the plan of the entity that corrupted them.

I have a few sequel videos planned for this video. However school is starting in less than a week and this year will be my most busiest school years ever. And I have other animations I want to work on. So the possibility of a sequel is on the table, but I have no guarantee it will every happen.
