Sifan Hassan capped off her busy week in Paris by becoming the Olympic marathon champion in a new Olympic record of 2:22.55. 26.2 miles came down to a sprint between Hassan and world record holder Tigst Assefa, who finished 2nd but only 3 seconds behind. Hellen Obiri won bronze.
