She earned her BS degree in #Biochemistry, #MolecularBiology, and #Biotechnology from Michigan State University in 2019. With a passion for scientific exploration, Balindile chose to pursue her doctoral research in the esteemed Stahelin Lab at #purdueuniversity. Her primary research area centers around unraveling the intricate mechanisms employed by the #EbolaVirus matrix protein (VP40) during the assembly and budding stages of the virus.

During her doctoral journey, Balindile has developed a keen interest in leveraging various cutting-edge biophysical techniques. These techniques include #SurfacePlasmonResonance (#SPR), #IsothermalTitrationCalorimetry (#ITC), and #Microscopy. These tools empower her to delve into viral processes at a molecular level, providing invaluable insights into virus-host interactions. In addition to her research endeavors, Balindile actively contributes to the academic community. She currently holds the role of a teaching assistant at the #PharmacyLiveCellImaging Facility. In this capacity, she imparts her expertise to train users in the intricacies of microscopy, further enriching the scientific ecosystem.
