Dear Pet Rock (music video)

Dear Pet Rock, I’m sorry for neglecting you. Over the last 10 or so years, I was distracted. In bad times I spent entire days in bed paralyzed by a sense of doom. In good times I’d be chasing some prospect of success, romance, or self-discovery. Through it all, I have to admit, the idea that I had outgrown you was attractive.

I was concerned with the fuzzy problems of adulthood. I didn’t think you could help. I didn’t think you needed me either. I put us both through so much unnecessary suffering. But oh well. Let’s go on a picnic.
