Metula & Tanur waterfall

This video tour will lead us to two overlooked gems of the Galilee in Israel. Iyon waterfalls and the town of Metula
We start the tour at the Dado lookout where we can admire the Majestic snowcapped Mount Hermon, the Lebanese towns across the border and the Hula Valley. Then we will hike one of Israel's less visited water hikes, the Iyon River and the Tanur waterfalls. We end our tour at Israel's northernmost town – Metula, surrounded from three sides by the international border with our neighbors Lebanon.
Iyon stream nature reserve is a hidden gem and therefor is suitable for those who prefer less crowds or have already visited Tel Dan and the Banias. Iyon river starts flowing in the Lebanese Marj El Ayoun valley, and flows south under the Israel-Lebanon border in to Israel. The River cuts through the rock and creates a narrow gorge with 4 waterfalls, the final one is in a shape of a stove and therefore the name HaTanur (Stove in Hebrew). At the end of the trail you will find picnic tables and a fun wading pool.
Metula was founded at 1896 by Baron Rothschild on the ruins of the Druze village Umtallah. Rothschild purchased the land (actually twice) and settled 59 families to establish a farming community of the Alyah Rishona (First wave of immigration).
Metula's location, at the tip of the "Finger of the Galilee" challenged the inhabitants to a life of isolation and hardships, but thanks to their determination and resilience, the northern border of Israel was marked at this location.
Metula today is a historic town based on farming and tourism, enjoying the peace and quiet of a remote border town. The views and the fresh air are rewarding and it’s an excellent location to explore the north of Israel
