Screen Vibration Problem - Before & After Repair

We have been using Motion Amplification for over 4 years now and it continues to impress. This is one of my favorite examples so far as the structure is very complicated and has restricted access.
Routine site condition monitoring picked up a sharp increase in vibration levels on a screen drive motor in the vertical direction. Levels were 50mm/sec RMS at the frequency of the screen 14.3 Hz, the motor running speed was 25Hz.
We suspected a structural problem so setup the IRIS M camera 25meters away to survey the area using different lenses from the same position. Within 15mins we identified two vertical support beams with excessive motion. We then moved in for a closer scan of these beams and found the supports had failed. This was the root cause of the increase of vibration across the whole structure including the motor. Fantastic work by the site onsite engineering team as they managed to secure the vertical supports and added an extra stiffening brace without shutting the plant down. Levels reduced by 75% on the motor from 50mm/sec RMS to 12mm/sec RMS.
