Mount Goddard from Florence Lake

This is documenting a four day hike taken Aug 22-25 2023, starting from Florence Lake, traversing over Hell for Sure Pass to Mount Goddard.

Initially the plan was to cross over to Evolution Valley and check the return options via JMT or crossing over one of the passes South of San Joaquin, but after climbing Goddard, and being unsure about the weather and route options (missing bridge), I decided to return on the same path that I came.

This was a pretty long hike, with a two day approach route, most of it off-trail, but the view from top of Goddard totally made up for the effort.
Also, the route was quite satisfying, with nice landscapes and varied geography: forests, meadows, granite ridges, lakes and streams. All in all I consider it a rewarding trip.

Had to carry and use crampons and ice-axe for the final approach and climb to Mount Goddard.

As I said, the route was off-trail for a lot of its length, and the trail existing on some of its part (like from Lake Florence to Thompson Pass for example) is very faint or effectively disappearing under vegetation and non-use.
