The word "Satsang" is derived from a Sanskrit word that means "gathering together for the truth" or, more simply, "being with the truth".

In this insightful video, we have with us, Gavra Devi Ji. She is a popular folk singer from Bikaner, evidently well-loved by her audiences who call her "Buaji". Here she talks about her experiences and her passion for music. She was barely 10 years old when music fascinated her. This tiny bud was whole-heartedly nourished and supported by her father, who helped Gavra Devi learn and master the art of playing Dholak and Harmonium. Blessed with the right musical instinct, she was a quick learner and was able to memorize compositions just by hearing and observing.

Firm in her faith, she is very generous and humble towards her audience who are equally delighted to spend time with her. Do listen to her funny anecdotes and her beautiful childhood memories that will surely brighten up your day!
She sings a melodious Bhajan that speaks of the glory of Satsang. Satsang is the elixir of life and the ultimate truth that we all seek. The type of company we behold leaves a great impact on our actions and destiny. Good people bring out our best and evil ones may totally ruin us. When iron and wood come together then only the ship is able to sail. If we want to rise above, we need to lift others as we go on our path.

Rajasthan Kabir Yatra is a 7 days-long annual traveling folk music festival spread across six rural and urban locations in and around Rajasthan. Organized by Lokayan, Bikaner and partnered with Rajasthan Police, this is a folk festival providing a space where folk musicians, artists, scholars, students, and seekers can immerse themselves in the voices of Bhakti and Sufi saint-poets such as Kabir, Mira, Bulleh Shah, and many more, questioning and dissolving boundaries of caste, class, religion, and identity.

The five editions, in 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 were widely chronicled and appreciated. It brought together 50 artists, over 400 Yatris every year from other parts of India, and thousands of local audiences.
