Thunder Mountain Speedway hosted the first ever Rod Carter Jr. Memorial race in honor of the long time racer and multi-track champion. The final race of the evening was the 15 lap feature race for the FWD 4 Cylinders. Several drivers had led throughout the contest and #K7 Austin Kawasaki had patiently worked into contention. He took the final green flag with two laps to go from the third position and charged to the lead before the white flag flew. He then held on the final lap to score his first career feature victory. Thunder Mountain Speedway is a third-mile clay oval located just south of Corbin, Kentucky.
