FREEHAND vs. SHIELDS - Which AIRBRUSH TECHNIQUE is BEST?

Within this new airbrush painting tutorial (part 3 of 3), I'll show you how I use both shields and freehand techniques for painting the portrait of this older woman. Shields like frisket film, paper, french curves, etc. work great to add in a sharp line for edges. Freehand is best used for soft blends between values. With both techniques, I'll always use an eraser afterward to add in highlights and some texture. And of course, shields and freehand techniques can both be used interchangeably at any time in a painting. Thanks for watching!
