Meike Babel takes us through the closed stance forehand and how to correctly use weight transfer and your body to generate power in your shots.

This guide demonstrates firstly an insufficient weight transfer with a very upright stance which forces the player to use their arm to generate power and top spin.

Meike then demonstrates the correct way to transfer weight and generate power to the closed stance forehand.

The biggest source of power for your forehand are your legs. You want to get a much wider base, lower you entire upper body to lower your centre of gravity to create a more stable base. Then you can use your back leg to drive into the ball to generate more power and topspin.
