How to wire wrap coiled head pins🤩
You will need:
20 gauge half hard copper wire round from @firemountaingems
Square orange agate from @cherrytreebeads
Wood mandrel from @beadalon size 20mm from set or you can use metal round bending wire tool from @thebeadsmith
Nylon pliers, round nose plier, ( beadalon tools) chain pliers, patina, polish cloth and preservation wax from ( @riogrande )
Directions:
1. Cut 6 inches of wire. Smooth out wire with nylon pliers.
2. Curve wire around mandrel or wire bending tool in the center
3. Using chain nose pliers & bend 1 side of wire up straight. ( this is for beading)
4. Take other side of wire that is in front of bent wire and curve around round nose pliers. Form a loop going around and up towards the top. You want them centered together in the middle of large loop.
5. Take round nose pliers & move smaller loop &
center in the middle of large loop.
6. Then take remaining wire from small loop formation & coil around straight tall wire 3 times, cut off excess wire, pinch close.
optional steps are to put wire in patina to antique copper, polish & add preservation wax.
If you have any questions, let me know. This is sort of difficult and does take a few tries to get down.
