I share a story of going to my dental surgeon office and by the toxic environment I could get a whiff of, based on the panicked behavior of the employees, a red flag went off in my head: this dentist is owned by a hedge fund! Being a sociologist, I had to dig into the information about hedge funds and investment firms buying up healthcare facilities, to the detriment of us all!
