BUTTERCUP TIME



Crippled children gathering buttercups in a field (most of the scenes in the film were shot during hot weather as the children mostly wear swimming costumes and sun hats). Accompanied by their nurse they return with armfulls of the flowers to their hospital in Brockley Hill, Stanmore. Several views of the hospital buildings. The children eating at meal time (various shots). Several shots of the children playing and relaxing in the sun. A child has her legs put into plaster.



A car draws up outside the London branch of the hospital in Great Portland Street. Children on foot and on stretchers arrive at the hospital. GV The out-pationents hall, the gymnasium and massage areas. Doctors fitting limb supports to a young girl. A group of volunteers in a London street on 'Buttercup Day' collecting donations. An elegant woman in a fur coat pins a 'buttercup' onto a man who has donated. A group of nurses collecting donations. A young girl walking, aided by braces. Various shots of volunteers with collection boxes and posters. Happy children in a field with armfulls of buttercups.
