Basal ganglia in the garden

We had a gap in teaching last week and I'm stuck at home because of the virus. So let's have a crack at describing the basal ganglia (basal nuclei)! Woo! Neuroanatomy!

This is an introduction to the basal ganglia/nuclei. We'll get an idea of what its major roles are (as far as we know) and its anatomical parts. Once you've got a handle on the names you can go off and read all about the basal ganglia, its many connections and all of the magical neuroscience at your own pace.

We'll also talk about Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease.
