This is the 11th annual 1986 True Value Championship show featuring fifth seed Lenny Nali of Kingston, MA who qualified with a 420, fourth seed Ray McGuirk of East Boston, MA who qualified with a 430, third seed Dan Murphy of Concord, NH who qualified with a 438, second seed Fred Spintig of Stoughton, MA who qualified with a 447, and top seed Tom Olszta of Sturbridge, MA who qualified with a 483.
