Veteran City of Ash II - Horvantud the Fire Maw: DUD Nation Guides

Описание к видео Veteran City of Ash II - Horvantud the Fire Maw: DUD Nation Guides

Horvantud the Fire Maw is the first Main Boss and is a Daedroth type enemy with 2.5 million Hitpoints.

Mechanics:

Stomp (0:10, 0:53, 1:27) - The Fire Maw will Stomp at whoever has aggro, sending out lines that will damage and stun. The Tank should face the Fire Maw away when possible to avoid other Group members from being stunned.

Fiery Breath (0:32, 1:12) - The Fire Maw, like any standard Daedroth, will breathe a fire conal ability, damaging everything in front of him overtime. The Fire Maw will spam this ability and cast it several times in a row, conrtantly changing direction to face the Tank. The Tank, along with the Stomp, should face the Fire Maw away from the Group. The Tank should also side step the conal when possible.

Earthquake (0:16, 0:54, 1:53) - The Fire Maw will stop in place and begin punching the ground; several AoEs will start forming around each Player and then the ground will shatter and explode after a few seconds. During this phase, Players need to be moving around but not on top of each other as to not stack the AoEs. The AoEs formed are not lethal unless several are stacked or the Player is at low health. The Fire Maw won't do any other abilities during this phase, which lasts about 15 seconds, so the Tank should also move around.

Adds - At about every quarter of health (75, 50, and 25%) large groups of Dremora enemies will appear. The number of adds if overwhelming and is the usual reason for a Group wiping on this Boss. If the Fire Maw losses Health quickly enough, the adds will stack spawns, and there will be 30+ adds at once. This combined with Earthquake can kill a group unexpectedly. Newer Groups should take this fight slowly; damage the Fire Maw until the adds spawn and then focus kill the adds, and then turn damage back to the Fire Maw; rinse and repeat. The Tank should taunt or group adds on top of the Fire Maw to take pressure off the group, although getting every add is impossible. It is possible to burn the Fire Maw and allow the add groups to stack spawns and kill the adds with high AoE damage (mostly with Destruction Staff Ultimates).

Strategy:

The Tank taunts and faces the Fire Maw away from the Group, side stepping his Stomp and Fiery Breath abilities when they are cast. The Group damages the Fire Maw until he spawns his add groups, which should be focused with AoEs and grouped on the Fire Maw when possible. When he enters his Earthquake phase, the Group must move around and avoid the AoEs while killing the add Groups. The Tank and Healer should use mits during this fight, such as Barrier, to help survive through the huge groups of adds combined with Earthquake. If too many add groups are spawning, reduce the damage being done on the Fire Maw to prevent more from spawning for the time being.
