Ram Chandra Datta (30 October 1851 — 17 January 1899) was a devoted householder disciple of Ramakrishna. His deep love for the Master was evident, as he considered any place Ramakrishna visited to be sacred, including the coach he rode in. Datta built a temple to consecrate the Master's relics and actively promoted Ramakrishna as an incarnation of God. He was the first to proclaim Sri Ramakrishna as an avatar publicly in which many opposed in the initial days. Between 1893 and 1897, he became an "evangelist," delivering 18 public lectures in Calcutta that highlighted Ramakrishna's life and teachings. His first lecture, titled "Is Ramakrishna Paramahamsa an Avatar?" was delivered on Good Friday in 1893.

This video details the experience of the lay-disciple with the Master that led him to confidently proclaim the Master as an incarnation of God.
