The Transfiguration of Sri Ramakrishna | Hriday’s Vision

Hriday beheld Sri Ramakrishna as a form of pure light. Shortly after having such a vision, he realized he too had become that luminous light and that the light itself was the same Being who made up all things. Hriday, in immense joy and bliss, began to make a ruckus. Because of this, Sri Ramakrishna took away his vision. He told Hriday that it is not yet time for him to experience such things.

Likewise, we may ardently pray to God for visions, wisdom, blessings, and the like, but our time has simply not yet come. Like Hriday, we too cause much ruckus at the sight of even the smallest spiritual experience making it a source of pride and self-attachment. The Lord has prepared for us the right time to behold Him. Be patient. Wait dearly and do not fall into the disease of worldliness.
