How to Make Tube Beads from Thread Scraps - use your slow stitching threads to make beads.

Here’s another bead making project that uses thread scraps. This time the base of the beads is not paper. I used scraps of thread, embroidery floss, and yarn that I saved from my slow stitch projects.

I coated these beads with some varnish so they would firm up a bit more, but the coat of clear glue helps them stick together pretty well so you should be fine with just glue.

You should use something smooth to roll your beads on. Wooden skewers are too textured and the beads will not slide off. Try a paint brush or knitting needle if you don’t have bead rollers.

I don’t think I’d recommend using these for jewellery making but they would be great to use as embellishments for slow stitching or mixed media art.
