The Apostle Paul Employs a Plethora of Participles Romans 12:9 – 19
The usual pronunciation of the word “plethora” is /ˈplɛθəɹə/. The stress is on the first syllable, “plEthora”. However, “plethora” is really a Greek word, πληθώρη where the stress is on the second syllable. My native Greek mind caused me to pronounce it in a more Greek way. I have heard aome native English-speakers put the stress on the second syllable though stress on the first syllable is more common.

Word patterns and rhythm in the Greek NT are often lost in translation.
