Helllooo everybody and come along for the ride as I birth the Marquette Golden Eagles program on NCAA 14.

In this episode, our Golden Eagles look to bounce back after a tough loss last week in the "War For Wisconsin". It won't be easy, however, as Marquette heads down south to Jordan-Hare Stadium, the nation's 20th toughest place to play. The #22 Auburn Tigers boast one of the best defenses in the SEC with many playmakers on offense including Jeremy Johnson, Peyton Barber, and Tony Stevens. However, their offensive line is well below the caliber you'd expect from a program of their stature.

With that in mind, it's imperative that the Marquette defensive line can cause havoc and keep them in the game--especially following an early Greg Walker turnover. It takes a bit but the Golden Eagles' offense finally gets going led by the backfield tandem of Dusty Alexander and Mario McBride combining for nearly 200 rushing yards and a bunch of touchdowns.

Not only does this matchup come down to the final drive, but it also comes down to the very last play. With 2 seconds remaining at the goal line trailing by a field goal, Lance Leipold elects to go for the win rather than kicking the field goal and forcing overtime. Would the risky, aggressive play call pay off for Leipold and the Golden Eagles in a hostile, SEC environment?

In the next episode, Marquette enters the final quarter of the schedule as this Year 5 season winds down. The Golden Eagles will host the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, headlined by West Virginia transfer Shelton Gibson, in what serves as our last home game before senior day against Notre Dame.
