On a personal level, having lived in Chidambaram ( albeit briefly) , the magnificence of this temple, the beautiful sannidhis and the Darshan of Lord Nataraja is etched in the mind, which will remain an eternal blessing.

When we sat on this meditative, serene setting at Panchamikallu in Karnataka, we looked at the Akaasha in all it's glory, enveloping us in it's infinite presence.

This song just had to be sung, at that moment. The sun was setting spreading a beautiful Twilight and there was a gentle drizzle,it was magical indeed.

Absolutely laden with Blissful Raaga Bhava, Sri Muthuswamy Dikshithar, brings out his Encyclopaedic Knowledge about the Esoteric Aakasha Kshetra details. The intricate Truths about the Holiest of SHIVA kshetras are brought out beautifully.

The nature of Supreme Lord Shiva at Chidambaram is ANANDA(Supreme Bliss). That's why Sri Dikshitar starts the Masterpiece with the word ANANDA....

Lord Shiva's COSMIC DANCE at Chidambaram is this expression of Ananda. The very word Chidambaram , means CHIT+ AMBARAM.

CHIT refers to SUPREME INTELLECT and AMBARAM is SPACE. That is why it symbolises AAKASHA KSHETHRA.

SUPREME INTELLECT IN ETERNAL SPACE IN SUPREME BLISS.

He has brought out the nuances of each these properties in many layers in this masterpiece.

He brings out the Lustre of Paramatma, comparing it to Crores of Suns in the Eternal Space.This may be just an attempt, as Lord Shiva, the Paramatma is beyond compare.

The only way to SALVATION is by Clinging with TOTAL SURRENDER to HIS FEET.

In case of Lord NATARAJA, His LEFT FEET is already raised, making it easier for Bhaktas like us to cling on to it .

Highly evolved Rishis, Patanjali(Father of Yoga Shastra) and Vyagrapada( Rishi with legs of a tiger, ), have been mentioned as examples of Lord Shiva's Bhakthi.

Sri Muthuswamy Dikshithar was the most travelled among the Trinity. On the way to Kedarnath, one can travel along with the Mandakini river which forms the Mighty Ganga river.
So, when he mentions about the Ganga being borne by Lord Shiva, his mind automatically travels to Kedarnath Kshetra.

Also, it's his Unique Style of finely embedding the name of the Raaga in the Kriti itself, with an effortless ease , not disturbing the flow of ideas. Choice of Kedaram is a stroke of genius.The Raga being meditative, deep, mysteriously aesthetic with a sway in every phrase.

He brought with him 3000 Brahmins, when he came to perform his Cosmic Dance at Chidambaram. To date, the descendants of these 3000 are the Podhu Dikshithars, live and breathe Lord Natarajas Glory.

Lord Nataraja is so Benevolent to his devotees that His Heart is compared to BUTTER, which melts with DIVINE GRACE and comes to the succour of even the most fallen devotee

Lord Nataraja's COSMIC DANCE is an exquisite mix of MUSIC and DANCE OF HIGHEST LEVEL, which vibrates in Supreme Symphony with the Deepest meaning of VEDAS.
