Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens - FANFARE

Описание к видео Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens - FANFARE

Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens' Fanfare in D from École d’Orgue (1862) is a classic. Powerful, riveting and majestic. And perhaps you can hear a new sound coming from my Hauptwerk organ, or rather a new sample set: The magnificent organ of Dudelange sampled by Voxus Organs. It will be an organ which will feature extensively on this channel in the future and what better way of showing it by playing this grand piece.

Jacques-Nicholas Lemmens (1823-1881) was a wonderful Belgian organist and composer. He studied at the Royal Brussels Conservatoire, where he later was appointed organ professor. Only at the age of 26. He had well-known students which included Charles-Marie Widor and Alexander Guilmant.
Fanfare is Lemmens’ most famous composition, which was very popular when he per- formed it in recitals. To this day it remains a classic in the organ repertoire.
