Louis Lefébure-Wély - THE HYMN OF THE NUNS (Chouer de Voix Humanies)

In this video I play the popular and quite soothing piece "Choeur de Voix Humaine" also known as "The Hymn of the Nuns" or just "Andante" by the French organist and composer Louis-James-Alfred Lefébure-Wély. I have chosen to play on Caen - St. Etienne sampled by Sonus Paradisi.

Lefébure-Wély is mostly known for his massive organ hit "Sortie in Eb" but he also has a more tranquil side to his showmanship that he was known for at his time. This Andante has gotten a lot of titles mostly because it has been a crowd favorite. It sounds very straight-forward but if you want to have that smooth legato in the left hand it REALLY requires you to stretch your hand to the limit. To me a least!
