Former Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura, detained in Makindye military barracks for over two months, has been charged in the Court Martial in Kampala.

Some of the charges include failure to protect war materials and allowing junior officers to kidnap and illegally extradite Rwandan exiles and refugees. The maximum sentence for failure to protect war materials is death.

Gen. Kayihura denied all the charges, describing them as false and absurd. Gen. Kayihura returns to court on 4th September for his ball hearing.
