00:00 “Truman Gets New Service Women Stamp.” President Harry S. Truman participates in the ceremonial presentation of a new 3-cent stamp honoring America’s service women. In front of the White House, Truman gives stamp albums to the leaders of WAC, WAF, WAVES and Women Marines.

00:36 “Truman.” This segment shows Truman and his daughter, Margaret Truman, at a whistlestop in Colorado Springs, Colorado for presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson’s campaign for the 1952 election. Tightly packed crowds cheer, and Truman delivers anti-Eisenhower remarks.

01:31 “Theatre Owners of America Meet In Washington.” This segment captures scenes from the Theatre Owners of America convention in Washington, D.C. Wives of the conventioneers are invited to a White House tour led by President Truman. President Truman is shown greeting the large group of women on the White House lawn.

01:55 “The Battle for the White House” begins a series of brief segments detailing President Truman’s involvement in the 1952 presidential election. Mr. Truman is shown on the campaign trail, making whistlestops from Montana to California and various public appearances to stump for the continuation of Democratic policies and to speak against Mr. Eisenhower. The scenes include large crowds surrounding his train, Harry S. Truman with Native Americans, and Mr. Truman making speeches among others. Footage also includes appearances by Republican presidential candidate Dwight D. Eisenhower, making a campaign visit to Harlem and also delivering a speech promising to focus on bringing the Korean War to an end.

04:21 “Korea Heroes Receive Medal of Honor.” President Truman presents the Medal of Honor to three Korean War Marine veterans: Lt. Col. Raymond G. Davis, Staff Sergeant Robert S. Kennemore and PFC. Hector A. Cafferata, Jr. The reasons behind each of their citations are explained in brief.

04:54 “News from Washington” begins a series of segments about President Truman during the lame-duck portion of his presidency. Truman is shown with Gov. Adlai Stevenson after his failed bid for the 1952 election. Truman hands out aviation awards at a banquet during a celebration of the 50th anniversary of U.S. military aviation. Truman greets Secretary of State Dean Acheson on an airport runway as Mr. Acheson returns home from a conference in Paris.

06:22 “News of the Presidency” begins a series of segments about President Truman’s last days in the White House, including his last official meeting with his cabinet when he is presented with his leather chair now bearing an engraved plaque. Mr. Truman is also shown presenting his last message to the American people on his eve of leaving office. He speaks about his decisions as president and the satisfaction he and Mrs. Truman feel. Scenes of the Truman’s personal belongings getting packed up and shipped to Missouri follow. [this segment cuts off abruptly on this recording.]
