Joplin, Missouri EF5 Tornado (Rare Video) 5/22/11

Описание к видео Joplin, Missouri EF5 Tornado (Rare Video) 5/22/11

On May 22, 2011, One of the last EF5 tornadoes would tear a path through the southeast Missouri city of Joplin. Along with that, 47~ other tornadoes were confirmed. An EF5 rating is the highest possible raising a tornado could get, and since this twister, only 2 other tornadoes have gotten said rating. Most notably, this twister has been regarded as the deadliest tornado of the 21st century. Due to this, the outbreak/tornado have become well known by many and unforgettable by most alive in the area at the time. But, since this tornado was mostly wrapped in complete rain, any videos showcasing the true tornado are extremely scarce. Since most were shared back then, any new angles from the event are most definitely a big deal, especially if they show the funnel itself. For example, I recently discovered this incredible footage of the tornado ominously intensifying within Joplin. While I initially doubted it, I spoke with ‪@tornadotrx‬ and ‪@kevinjoyce285‬ (who had seen the video) and actually confirmed this being the twister. You can see through the trees the mesocyclone touch down, and the twister rip across the area. It was recorded by “Maxi”, who had also visited the KSN studios around the same time. This footage is EXTREMELY rare, so I do hope you all enjoy! Special thanks to Maxi for recording this and posting it on their youtube here: ‪@MaxieRetro‬
